Alcomden
Alcomden stones are situated at the top of moors near Crow Hill (site of the infamous bog burst of 1824 that happened whilst the Bronte siblings were staying near by at Ponden Hall)
The large boulders that make up Alcomden stones are erratics dumped there by the last ice age. The whole of this area was a terminal moraine and the landscape has been shaped extensively by the ice.
